ABOUT

We are three MLIS students at the University of British Columbia, Canada, determined to leave a mark on the annals of LIS history. This our maiden attempt, aptly articulates our desire to help other students (immigrants in particular) make a smooth transition into their life and studies here in this beautiful province of British Columbia. Considering our own experience (two of us are international students), we empathize with students with diverse (and urgent) information needs as they try to seek reliable sources of information (preferably all in one resource) just like how we expected during our arrival here. As a student and as an immigrant, reliable sources are hard to come by, unless we have relatives or friends over here. Since that isn't the case too often, we have put in our honest effort at providing reliable, crisp info related to banking, telecom, accommodation, health services for the earnest info-seeking student, who we feel would most gladly use this resource to secure a sound footing in this beautiful province before embarking on his/her studies in the course of preference.

Adam Beilka

Adam Bielka is a generic student at UBC studying Library. He hoped to contribute to a website to help build connections between knowledge-needers and knowledge-havers with a focus on NGOs, but the turns of time revealed that this had already been done; he contributed to this project in lieu of that.

Billy Augustine

Billy Augustine, a passionate learner and former academician in engineering, is keenly transitioning into the field of LIS, here at the UBC. Having lived abroad for around a decade, he understands the pain of new immigrants as they try to gauge the new environment, and has designed this website as a timely help in their hour of need.

Jimi Akinsanya

Jimi Akinsanya is an international student from Nigeria, currently pursuing his MLIS, at the UBC. Through this venture, he aims to help out other new students in this province and country to have a smooth and easy transition to the life and practices here for enjoyable stay and studies with all their information needs satisfied.
